Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Easy to locate the items needed
I love coming to this Home Depot location because it's been more than 10 years that I come shopped to this location and all the items are organized and located to the same spot. I hate it when stores rearrange and change location on items and it get so confusing, take longer to shop and every employee are clueless to where the items are. But this location, every employee that designated to each location are very knowledgeable and professional. They direct and guide you on your on specifications. They even provide you suggestions and advices on how to do it the proper way. Or if they don't know how, they find someone that know how. I build this pergola by the help and guidance of an employee Roger. From the angle, anchoring, right wood, proper staining and spacing are all guided by an employee and I'm very happy to the outcome. I love and trust this Home Depot location because of their employees.

My favorite place to go shopping.
I can spend hours in this store and not get tired. Everything you need, you can find. Just hope that you don't need the help of Keylee in the paint department. She's not very customer friendly. And she will avoid you as much as she possibly can.

Not all Home Depot are the same.
The customer service is much better at the Palm Ave., Chula Vista location, then at the imperial Beach location, I try to avoid the imperial beach location even though it’s closer to my house

            Wasted time waiting…..
I went to this store first thing in the morning (6:30am) to buy a pallet of retaining wall blocks for my home project, paid for it and asked them to have it ready for pickup at 12:30. When my employee shows up at the agreed time he was told that it would be a 3-4 hour wait because the order was not ready for pickup. This was not online an inconvenience but an additional expense since had hired people waiting for this material to complete the job… obviously I had to pay them for their wasted time waiting…

The Plumbing Assocate was gruff and condescending
I visited to buy a gas supply valve and gas line. When I asked the Home Depot Associate in the plumbing department for advice, he was condescending and acted like I should already know what I am doing. Well, if I already knew, I wouldn't be asking! The good news is the Associate at the self checkout line was friendly and greeted me with a smile!

I often shop at Imperial Beach Home Depot
I live almost equally as far away from the 2 Home Depots at which I shop. Sometimes one of those stores will have items in stock when the other store is out and visa versa. Both of the stores have pretty friendly employees so I just go to which ever one I feel like and between the 2 stores, my choice is seldom wrong. I'm happy with my theory on that...lol. My other store is also San Diego, I think it's zip is 92154

                    The Stingy home depot
They won't give away busted bags of concrete for free or sell them at a discount but other home depots do. WHY is this Home Depot so stingy and ungrateful to the community they profit from??
