Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Do you carry talking Halloween decor that moves?
Yes, we carry many types of Halloween decor that move and make noise. Our Halloween animatronics bring frightening characters to life. Bring the scare level of a haunted house to your own home. This includes current favorites like Dean the Deathologist and Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton. For more drama, use a fog machine or two to hide the animatronics until they start to cackle.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When considering different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs before it gets cold?
Ready your home for winter weather by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and brick for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed out if they're in poor condition.
What are some storage options for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Shoe storage and other storage containers take summer belongings out of the equation. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present for housewarming parties, birthdays, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Berlin Township Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
