Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Do you carry huge Halloween yard decorations?
We have many huge outdoor Halloween decorations, including many life-sized animatronics. Make your front yard the spookiest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, reapers, and witches. Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton, and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are a quick and easy way to show big Halloween spirit.
Why should I get a generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When shopping for generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Ready your home for cold weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could headed for major repairs down the line. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if in poor condition.
What are some storage options for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Shoe racks and other storage containers take summer belongings out of the equation. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent choice for the holidays, birthdays, and housewarming parties. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you receive a gift card, you can visit the Burbank Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
