Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you offer Halloween string lights?
Yes, we have many indoor and outdoor Halloween lights to set the mood and light up the night. Use flickering lights and fog machines to create a terrifying sight for trick-or-treaters or hang up pumpkin lights. Choose from plug-in, solar, or battery-operated Halloween lights.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with thunderstorms, snowstorms hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing any faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, change chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're damaged.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Take summer belongings out of the equation with shoe racks and other storage containers. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've dreamed of.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you receive a gift card, you can visit the East Columbus Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.
