Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Do you have animatronic Halloween characters?
Yes, we carry many types of Halloween decor that make sound and/or movement. Our Halloween animatronics bring scary characters to life. Life-like moving creatures will be the talk of the neighborhood. This includes current favorites like Dean the Deathologist and Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton. For more drama, use a fog machine or two to mask the animatronics until they start to speak or sing. Become part of the scene by lurking in a Halloween costume and jumping out to surprise trick-or-treaters.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, snowstorms, or thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Ready your home for cold weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Lastly, replace chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're in poor condition.
What's the best way to store extra holiday decor?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Shoe racks and other storage containers take summer belongings out of the equation. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've dreamed of.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?

If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online.
