Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.

What types of Halloween decoration are most popular?
Many families love Halloween and decorating with ghosts, pumpkins, witches, and of course, skeletons. Our best-selling Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, is ready to tower over your yard. We've got Skelly accessories and Skelly's dog to keep him company this year. We've got other Halloween classics, too, like ghosts, monsters, and pumpkins. Halloween animatronics and inflatables are a quick and easy way to add spooky spirit when searching for outdoor Halloween decorations, too.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements knock it out. When browsing generators for sale, remember that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Ready your home for colder weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check bricks and cinder blocks for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're damaged.
What storage solutions do you offer?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. Shoe storage and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular present during the holiday season or for any reason. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Merchant's Walk Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
