Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Do you offer trunk-or-treat ideas or kits?
Even better than trunk-or-treat kits, we've got everything you need to make your own. Easily create your own trunk-or-treat experience with some imagination and a few Halloween decorations. Use small indoor Halloween decorations inside the trunk or just outside of it on tables. Expand the scene with outdoor Halloween decorations, and don't forget to dress the part in a matching Halloween costume.
Why should I get a generator?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be headed for trouble. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be replaced if damaged.
What storage solutions do you offer?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Take summer belongings out of the equation with shoe racks and other storage bins. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any special occasion. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Purchase gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.
