Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you offer huge Halloween yard decorations?
Yes, we stock many kinds of large outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are animatronics. Make your front yard the creepiest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including witches, skeletons, and dragons. Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are low-commitment decorations that make a high impact. Blow them up when you're ready to show your nighttime Halloween spirit and deflate them during the day.
Do I need a generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Ready your home for winter weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could headed for major repairs later. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if in poor condition.
Are sheds or garage cabinets better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Shoe racks and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. Moving blankets protect fragile items as they're packed together. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for the holidays, birthdays, and housewarming parties. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. Buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit the Tulsa Central Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.
