Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

What are some non-scary Halloween ideas for kids?
For a holiday that's not spooky, choose Halloween yard decorations that are kid-friendly. Halloween inflatables and Halloween doormats are festive solutions that aren't as spooky as many other outdoor Halloween decorations. Don't forget to update your decor as your kids get bigger and braver.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check brick and cinder block for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if they're damaged.
What storage solutions do you offer?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Shoe storage and other storage containers take summer belongings out of the equation. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
