How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. Can I rent a tool for a week?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
