Can I rent a van?
Stop by the Oak Harbor Rental Center to see which trucks or vans you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go moving van, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You might also read our truck rental page to see if what you need is at your local store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
