Americana Decor 16 oz. Clear Creme Wax

A:  The Clear Creme Wax will provide a small amount of protection against moisture, but for long-lasting durable resistance to water, we strongly recommend that you apply our Americana Decor line of Varnishes - SoftTouch, Light Satin or Ultra-Matte sheens. This will deliver superior protection and durability, especially against water and moisture. A:  Nita, Americana Decor Waxes only need to be applied one time. Other manufacturers require that their wax be re-applied every 6 months, but ours does not. One time and you're done! -DecoArt Paint Guru

A:  I bought this wax & used it on a couple of pieces that don't get heavy use, so one coat application worked great. If it's a piece you may use a lot like a dining table then you may need to re-apply periodically. Hope this helps!!

A:  It holds up very well but we did it again after 2 years of use when we did it for some new pieces we chalk painted and it did help strengthen the coat to prevent staining and scratching. It depends on how much you use the piece you are painting with the chalk paint as to how often you may want to wax it, we used this piece a lot. The second time you wax it should not require as much and should be just a little bit to strengthen the coat. Make sure to prep as it says on the container.

A:  This is a one application wax.

A:  Amy Howard at Home brand (Ace Hardware is selling her products or can buy online under Amy Howard at Home) makes a product called Clean Slate that is supposed to take off any grease, waxes, polished etc. You just wipe it on with a lint-free rag, and you don't have to rinse it off with water afterwards. It isn't cheap, but it can be used for lots of applications.
