How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. Can I rent a tool for a day?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a van.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
