Can I rent a Penske moving van?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks are available for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go moving van, flatbed truck, or pickup truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You can also check out our truck rental page to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before you choose a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
