How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
