As someone who’s painted many rooms, there’s nothing worse than the paint that takes ages to dry for it to inevitably get scuffed, ruined or stained. Not to mention, trying to manage lingering paint smell while waiting for your paint to dry, it often feels like you’re working for the paint instead of the paint working for you.
My husband and I have tested numerous types of paints within our rental property, and with a lot of trial and error, we realized we needed a paint that would last and would withstand some wear-and-tear. We were able to discuss with a Home Depot associate some of the needs we had for the room, what we would like the paint to do and some of our previous experiences with paint. Once we were recommended to try Glidden Diamond Interior Paint and Primer as a solution, we picked out the color option we wanted to go with (to me, this is by far the HARDEST decision! There’s always so many good options!) We were also able to discuss the different offerings for sheen coverage to see what would be the best fit for our needs as well. Since this was going to be in a high-traffic area, we went with the flat eggshell sheen for the bedroom and we were excited to put this to work.

Low-maintenance home projects have been our bread-and-butter lately, and while painting doesn’t seem to be a traditional “low-maintenance” project, the right paint turns it into one! We had 24 hours between guests to make my vision come to life, so I was able to get to work in one evening on transforming this space. What was so great about the Glidden Diamond Interior Paint and Primer was that the space was covered in scuff marks, and with one coat of paint, I was able to immediately cover the imperfections without needing a second coat! (This will definitely depend on the color choice you decide for your home.)
With this being a high-traffic room, from previous experience, we needed paint that was durable against scuff marks and scrubbable against spills and stains on the walls as well. The Glidden Diamond Interior Paint and Primer is the perfect solution to hold up against imperfections that allows you to scrub the paint if needed as well.
The best part about this paint? It’s a low-odor paint (Low VOC — which is the smell that comes off paint), so I was able to complete this project without worrying about the lingering smell throughout the home for our next guests.

Since painting the room, we’ve been pleased with how well this paint has held up! We haven’t had to go in to do touch ups with how durable the paint has been. We went with the flat eggshell sheen as it was recommended to use with the bedrooms, and I couldn’t be more pleased! We went with the color “Summer Sunset” to continue with the modern bohemian theme of our home. It turned out even better than we expected!
If you’re looking for a paint that withstands all of the “living” done in your home, I couldn’t recommend Glidden Diamond Interior Paint and Primer enough!
