DIY Centerpiece for your Holiday Tablescape

The holiday season is my absolute favorite time of year, but I must say that I love Christmas the most! When I think of Christmas time, I envision being surrounded by my loved ones while sharing warm laughter and great conversation as we enjoy a heartwarming dinner at a beautifully styled dinner table.
I know that for some of us creating a beautifully styled tablescape isn’t always easy, which is why I partnered with Home Depot to bring you this step-by-step guide to creating the perfect DIY centerpiece for your Holiday tablescape that’s sure to wow your guests!

Whenever I’m creating a centerpiece for a holiday tablescape, I swear by three elements; dramatic greenery, multiple layers of lighting and serveware that isn’t necessarily “holiday inspired”.
I tend to prefer shorter floral + greenery arrangements because they don’t block the sightlines across the table. That way you can converse with all the guests at the table without the need to duck your head around those larger, more voluminous arrangements.
In this case I opted for a pre-lit faux garland and layered on various colored ornaments that fit the holiday theme beautifully.

When it comes to lighting, it could single handedly enhance the dining experience! Multiple points of lighting create a very intimate vibe that is perfect for holiday dinners. I added a few layers of lighting in my dining area starting with my chandelier slightly dimmed, the pre-lit faux garland powered on and topped it off with these aesthetically pleasing candle sticks.

As you can see, I chose to continue the luxe theme by layering dishes that I already owned and took them to the next level with this gorgeous gold flatware that I found at The Home Depot. Not only were they nice looking, but they were also quick and affordable!
Aside from the gold flatware, my other favorite elements were the black dinner napkins that I chose. They are slightly shiny with a plaid print that I felt were holiday-focused. The use of the black makes this overall tablespace feel more luxe vs glam and if you already follow me on IG, I love a black luxe moment.
As for glassware, I grabbed a set of crystal water glasses from my cabinet and paired them with this super chic set of Schott Zwiesel red wine glasses that I ordered from The Home Depot, and they are my new favorite glasses! I mean, check out the bowl of that glass - stunning right!?

INSTRUCTIONS
Lay out your tablecloth and be sure to get a cloth/fabric instead of the single-use paper ones for an elevated look and feel.
Place and fluff your faux garland. -This faux garland has lights which adds a nice, intimate ambiance. (I opted for garland to keep the sight lines clear, I mean who wants to try to have a tall bouquet of flowers blocking your view?)
Add ornaments to the garland for a very layered look. -I’m sure you have a ton from last year like myself, if not, The Home Depot has you covered.
4.Nested your candlesticks into the garland. -This adds an additional layer to your tablescape and brings more points of light.
5.At this point you’ll want to place all your dishes however you see fit. -I typically serve three to four courses so I always opt for a more formal place setting.

I hope that you’ve found this step-by-step breakdown helpful and easy to follow! Be sure to tag Home Depot (@homedepot) and I (@athomewithsavvy) on Instagram, we’d love to see what you create for your dinner parties this holiday season!
Happy Holidays!
