I've been on a journey to make every corner of our new home uniquely ours, so I'm super excited to share my latest project with you. Transforming my she-shed into a chic, modern organic office space, with Glidden Diamond Interior Paint from The Home Depot, helped me to take my space to a new level!

With a dark woodsy exterior, my vision for my shed’s interior was to create a space that's not only functional but also a true reflection of my style... a combination of modern aesthetics and also incorporating that same organic, earthy feel to match the exterior– and design a place where creativity flows freely.
I was inspired by gorgeous Pinterest ideas and wanted that popular lime wash look without the high cost of expensive paint. Glidden provided the perfect solution to transform my space into the she-shed of my dreams.
Why Glidden Diamond?

When it came to choosing the right paint, Glidden Diamond was a no-brainer for several reasons:
Affordable Quality: Glidden Diamond is the only one-coat paint + primer that starts under $30/gallon. It’s a budget-friendly choice that doesn’t compromise on quality.
Durability: This paint is ultra-scrubbable and durable, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Perfect for a space that’s going to see a lot of use!
Ease of Use: The Glidden brand is all about making your painting projects easy and hassle-free. For me, it meant getting the job done efficiently without sacrificing the fun of DIY.
Tips for Picking the Perfect Paint

Choosing the right paint can be overwhelming, but here are some tips to make the process a breeze:
Consider the Mood: Think about the vibe you want in the room. Soft, cool colors create a more tranquil atmosphere, while stronger colors can add drama.
Test in Your Space: Lighting can dramatically alter the appearance of a paint color. Always test paint samples in your space at different times of the day to see how the color changes in natural and artificial light.
Look at Undertones: Pay attention to the undertones of the paint colors. Colors can have warm (yellow, red) or cool (blue, green) undertones, impacting the room's feel.
Think About Room Size: Lighter colors can make a small room feel bigger and brighter, while dark colors can add depth and coziness to a larger space.
Consider the Finish: The paint's finish (matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss or high-gloss) can affect the color and durability. For high-traffic areas, a more durable, easy-to-clean finish like satin or semi-gloss is often recommended.
Sample Multiple Shades: Don’t be afraid to bring home multiple samples. Comparing different shades side by side in your space is crucial to making the right choice.
Coordinate With Your Décor: Ensure the paint color complements your furniture, artwork and overall décor style.
My Experience With Color Choices

In stores, I was drawn to 'Hourglass', 'Cool Concrete' and 'Toasted Marshmallow'. However, in my she-shed, I found ‘Hourglass’ in a matte finish to be the perfect happy medium between the two colors, not too dark and not too pink.
This shade provided the perfect tranquil ambiance that was also energetic and bright to inspire the creativity I wanted my space to embody. It brought a sense of calm and sophistication to the room.
How-To: DIY Faux Lime Wash Paint Finish

Creating a faux lime wash effect is simpler than you might think, and it's a fantastic way to add texture and depth to your walls. Here’s how I did it with Glidden Diamond paint:
1) Prep Your Space: Tape off borders and lay out paint cloths (if necessary). Since Glidden Diamond paint has a built-in primer, this can save you a step!!
2) First Coat: Using a 4-inch brush, apply the paint in a crisscross and 'X' motion to create texture. This mimics the traditional lime wash look. Let it dry completely.
3) Second Coat: For added texture, I used a mix of 25% 'Hourglass' (a custom lighter shade mixed by The Home Depot) applied in the same manner. This lighter version gives the wall a more nuanced, layered look to the finish.
4) Let It Dry: Allow the paint to dry completely, revealing the textured, lime wash effect.
This approach resulted in a stunningly textured look that transformed the space, lending it a modern yet organic feel.
The Finishing Touch: Faux Beams From The Home Depot

To complete the aesthetic, we installed faux beams from The Home Depot, perfectly complementing the room's vibe.

I'm so excited about the transformation achieved with Glidden Diamond paint and can't wait to see your DIY makeovers. The Glidden brand makes it easy and affordable for me to get my job done.
