Installing Gutter Guards
Cleaning out your gutters from all those leaves in the fall is an often forgotten task but clogged gutters can lead to damage to the siding and foundation of your home. So grab a ladder and assess your gutter situation.

Loose leaf debris can easily be removed with a leaf blower. Be sure to check the downspouts to make sure there are no larger items blocking off the flow of water.

The solid or soggy debris can be removed with a gutter scoopor by hand.

When the gutters have been cleaned and downspouts are clear take the time to install some mesh gutter guards. These gutter guards fit gutters from 4-6 inches and snap into place. Slide them gently under the shingles and snap them over existing gutters. Bonus if you get this done before the leaves start falling off the trees.

Trim the gutter guards as needed with shears or scissors to fit.

Adding gutter guards to your existing gutters is an affordable and doable DIY for the homeowner to extend the longevity of the exterior structures.
