If you know me, then you know I am a total clean freak (yes, I deep clean my house every day)! I got to try out the new Hoover Smartwash Advanced Pet Automatic Carpet Cleaner from the Home Depot, and I was SO excited to see how it would transform my carpets. I have two other carpet cleaners, and the Hoover Smartwash Advanced Pet Automatic Carpet Cleaner absolutely exceeded my expectations. It was SO easy to use and got the dirt out on the first clean. CRAZY! I was shocked to see the dirt it pulled up from my living room rug since I clean so much!
Having a goldendoodle that tracks in mud daily and a husky that sheds constantly, I needed a good carpet cleaner. I love that the Hoover cleaner is specialized for pets! It also comes with tools and accessories that are great for steps, small crevices and cracks!
Vaccum Carpet Prior to Cleaning
Before using the Hoover cleaner, I vacuumed the living room rug very well. Do not use the carpet cleaner as a traditional vacuum. That is not what it is for. There are two easy steps after vacuuming the area you want to clean.
Add Water and 3-in-1 Carpet Solution
First, fill the clean water tank at the top of the cleaner with warm water. Second, fill the solution tank (located below the water tank) with the 3-in-1 Carpet Solution Deep Clean Pet Max. I got that at the Home Depot separately. There was a little stain on my rug, so I pretreated the stain before cleaning with the Hoover spot treatment. And guess what!? The stain came out completely! I was shocked because I couldn’t get it out with the other cleaners I have. This solution helps loosen and remove even the most stubborn stains!
Extract Water From Carpet to Dry
One of my favorite features on the cleaner is that it tells you when it is cleaning and drying the carpet. When the carpet cleaning is complete and you want to reduce the dry time, press the “dry only” button. Dry only mode will extract remaining water from the carpet. Do this until little water is visibly passing through the nozzle in the front.
Overall, I loved how easy it was to use, and how high quality the Hoover Smartwash Advanced Pet Automatic Carpet Cleaner is. This cleaner makes DIY home carpet cleaning easy. Not having to hire professionals to clean carpets regularly is a win in my book!
