In every home there is often one room that typically gets overlooked. For me, that room was our garage. The room with four walls that holds all of our holiday decor, tools and
piles of unbroken down boxes. There will come a day when you get so tired of looking at all of that unorganized junk and I am here to help! Here is what I did to achieve a garage makeover on a budget with help from The Home Depot.

We purchased our home in February of 2023 and embarked on an exciting new chapter in our lives as we moved into our new home. If you have ever moved before, you know just how much trash comes with that and where does all that go….. the garage. We wanted to transform this neglected space into something more functional and have our home feel truly complete.

First things first- we needed to get rid of all of the trash and boxes. If you are going to makeover your garage, none of the new beauty will matter unless you have a space that is tidy and you can actually see. So, we got to work and FINALLY cleared out the garage.

Next, we took some measurements of our space and headed over to The Home Depot to pick out storage solutions that would help us stay organized and fit perfectly into our garage. Some of the things we picked up are a pegboard, storage cabinet, tool drawer, five-tier shelving unit, and a three-tier shelving unit.
Once all items were assembled and in their intended areas, it was time to organize. We took our time finding places for all of our tools, holiday decor, miscellaneous supplies and storage bins. And wouldn’t you know it, we actually were able to finally pull our cars into the garage after moving in months prior. Huge accomplishment!

Transforming a space in your new home doesn’t have to be as daunting as we think it will be. Thanks to The Home Depot and their vast selection of quality products, we found everything we needed to tackle our garage and within our budget. We created a space that is not only functional but one that we will be able to grow into throughout the years to come.
