How to Throw a Fun DIY Party with a Home Depot Celebration Kit
I'm partnering with the Home Depot to share this fun new Celebration Kit. It’s a DIY party at your fingertips! The kit includes Home Depot paper products, Kids Workshop aprons, balloons, paint, foam brushes and—the best part—a fun DIY Kids Workshop craft project.

I set the table with the Celebration Kit and wanted to add some edible treats for the kids to snack on while they worked. I used some orange napkins (not included) and Mod Podge to decoupage a plastic platter for cupcakes (frosted, sprinkled with orange sugar). I picked up any orange snacks and treats I could find for the center of our table—who knew there were so many to choose from?! Don’t worry, I also added some healthy options. I’m not saying the kids ate them, but they were on the table.

The first order of business was writing names on their orange Home Depot aprons and puttin the Kids Workshop pins on them. My kids know that when the orange aprons come out, it’s time for business!

We’ve made lots of these Home Depot Kids Workshop projects, and they are all really well organized and easy for the kids to do. We invited some friends over (ages 6 to 10), and everyone was able to independently follow the directions for these mini table tennis sets. The kits included small wooden pieces that the kids hammered together using the enclosed brad nails to assemble both the table tennis mallets and the net.

The hammers
were not included, but it’s nice to have a few of these small ones for the kids to share.

It got loud real fast.

Once everyone had hammered the handles onto their table tennis mallets and assembled their nets, they got to put the green stickers of the net on and… paint! We had lots of different designs, and some of the kids waited for their mallets to dry and then came back to add some more details! This is where I really got a glimpse at their creative personalities.

We celebrated the completion of our projects with cupcakes and special drinks (a scoop of orange sherbet in a cup of orange soda). Then the kids blew up the rest of the Home Depot balloons and took them out to the trampoline to burn off some energy from all the treats.

Each kit comes with a certificate of achievement that you can fill out for the children to keep track of which workshop activities they’ve made! This workshop activity was easy enough for the kids to finish on their own without frustration, but not so easy that any of them were bored.
