My nephew’s room was in desperate need of a makeover as he turned the big 3! Armed with creativity and a mission to transform his dull, all-white space into a timeless masterpiece, I turned to The Home Depot for some serious DIY magic. And let me tell you, it was a breeze!

I started by adding some architectural interest to the walls with a classic board and batten treatment. The Home Depot had an amazing selection of boards and trims, and I found the perfect match for the cozy classic vibe I wanted to achieve. With a fresh coat of earthy green paint to the board and batten, doors, and trim, the walls instantly came to life.

Next, I wanted to add a wow factor to the walls that still felt timeless, so I went for a classic striped wallpaper in neutral tones. Not only did it add pattern and depth, but the vertical stripes create the illusion of a taller ceiling – a win-win!

To anchor the space and add warmth, I decided on a textured jute rug. It added the perfect touch of coziness and served as a solid foundation for the rest of the decor. And let me tell you, The Home Depot had a rug selection that had me swooning – so many options!

Of course, we couldn't forget about the fun factor - this is a 3 year olds bedroom after all. I found the most adorable robot alarm clock and teddy bear basket that instantly brought back the joy and creativity to the room. And talk about customization – The Home Depot had an unfinished pine nightstand that I could paint and customize to my heart’s content. I went with a pale yellow paint and added brass hardware for a touch of sophistication that every 3 year old needs.

I opted for this beautiful off-white open bookcase that not only provides functional storage but also serves as a display space for my nephew’s growing collection of treasures and toys. He gets to show off his favorite books and mementos while keeping his toys organized and within reach.

Now, let me shed to some light on a crucial part of any room makeover – the lighting! If you follow me on my socials, you know my obsession with lighting runs deep. I found the perfect brass ceiling fixture that had a subtle nod to mid-century modern design. But, that's not all! I always recommend 2-3 sources of lighting for every space, so I also added a brass task lamp to create a cozy reading nook and a rustic bedside lamp for that perfect glow. Now, my nephew's room is beautifully lit for any mood or activity.

And for the main event – an all new bed in a beautiful walnut finish fit for a big kid, which we topped with cozy striped bedding to play off the wallpaper. The best is the perfect centerpiece for the room, adding a touch of sophistication and comfort that my nephew will enjoy for years to come.

The end result? A timeless big boy bedroom that my nephew can grow into and enjoy for years to come. The Home Depot was my one-stop-shop for all my DIY and decor needs, with their wide selection of high-quality pieces that are toddler-proof and budget-friendly. My nephew’s room is now the envy of the cul-de-sac, and I couldn't be prouder of the transformation. Now, excuse me while I do my happy dance in my nephew’s new room!
