The Home Depot Rental Center at Arlington

When it's time to make the leap into a DIY project, you might not have every tool you need in a shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Arlington.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental choices expand your toolbox and toolbelt with the precise tools you require to complete your project. It's not necessary to invest in a specific tool when you're not using it often. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, give it a spin first before you decide which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent scaffolding and ladders to reach high surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to work.

Rent Floor Sanders, Shop Vacuums, Post Hole Diggers, and More
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.

Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you need a flatbed or pickup truck. It's great for hauling a tool rental or large purchase. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready when you need them. We've also got box trucks and Penske moving trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
