When you're ready to leap into a big DIY project, you might not have every tool you need in the shed or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Atlantic And Girvin Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options enlarge your toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete the job. It's impractical to invest in a specialty tool when you're not using it often. When you're looking for a new tool, do a trial run first before you choose which to get. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Rent Floor Sanders, Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and More
Tackle serious jobs with reliable power tools. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your property faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Gorgeous sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, scaffolding rentals for painting a shed or house, or rental ladders for painting fences, we have what you need.
Rental Trucks
To meet your transport needs, we keep flatbed trucks and cargo vans rental-ready — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. We'll have the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY and storage projects, it's smart to make us your source for moving and transport as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or tools by the hour?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
