Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with snowstorms, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for spring temperature changes?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be replaced if damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window or peephole when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
