Tool and Equipment Rental
Jump into your home improvement project with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Bossier City Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. Rent what you need and bring it back when you're done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds rental ready. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbed trucks to pickups to cargo vans. We'll have the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a day?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered and removed from your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
