Take on any home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You can finish your project without taking up valuable shed or garage storage with tools you only reach for every so often.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Bridgewater II - Rt 202 Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complex DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Complete your project safely and confidently by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, it might be at another store within driving distance.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, refresh your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated well. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temperatures in the winter, too, which can tamp down electricity usage.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and edgers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep cargo vans and trucks ready to roll — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY and storage projects, it's easy to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing your vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
