The Home Depot Rental Center at Burlington, NC

Tool and Equipment Rental
Kick off your next DIY project with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Burlington, NC fill in the gaps in your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent the tools you need and bring them back when you're done. If it makes sense to have those rental tools around all the time, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready for rental. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to cargo vans to flatbed trucks. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY and storage projects, it's easy to make us your source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. It's a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're done.

Penske Moving Trucks
You're comfortable doing your DIY projects with us. Do the same when it's time to move into a new condo, house, or apartment. We offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 3-bedroom home.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a truck.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
