The Home Depot Rental Center at Burton

Tool Rental
Jump into your home improvement job with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Burton fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring it back when you're finished. If you need to add those tools to your toolbox permanently, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and hedge trimmers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. You'll enjoy a more consistent home temperature and steadier utility bills with new insulation.

Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you're in need of a cargo van or truck. It's great for hauling a tool rental. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready to roll when you need them. We've also got box trucks and Penske moving trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out our FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more info on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a day?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a truck.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my large equipment rental from the store?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
