Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms, blizzards tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before spring severe weather arrives?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. Check brick and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Lastly, replace vinyl siding and chimney caps if they're damaged.
What benefits do doorbell cameras have?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or an adjacent window when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
