Take on any new home improvement project with the right tools — even if you don't currently own them. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You're free to complete your project without cluttering up garage or workshop storage with tools you rarely reach for.
Tool and Equipment Rental
The Home Depot Copiague Tool Rental Center lets you do more complex DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, try checking another one within driving distance.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Gorgeous sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need rental ladders for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting a shed or house, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready for rental. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to flatbeds to cargo vans. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Our Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your local store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a month?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before you choose a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
