Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorms, snowstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for spring temperature changes?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if damaged.
What are the benefits of doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off wannabe porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
