When you're starting to dive into a DIY job, you might not have every tool you need in the workshop or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Dale City Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete your project. It's not necessary to keep a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're considering a new tool, try it out first before you choose which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Rent Floor Sanders, Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacs, and More
Tackle serious jobs with reliable power tools. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your home faster with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Make the most of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Ladder rentals help you reach elevated places when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.
Rental Trucks
For your transport needs, we keep flatbed trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for storage needs, DIY projects, and packing, it's simple to make us your source for moving and transport as well.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you select a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
