When you're ready to leap into a big DIY project, you might not have all the tools you need in the shed. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Danbury.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete your project. It's not practical to purchase a specialty tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're looking for a new tool, do a trial run before you decide which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your project.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Beautiful springtime days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need scaffolding rentals for painting sheds or houses, or rental ladders for painting fences, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to flatbeds to cargo vans. Choose the correct size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY and storage projects, it's smart to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. It's a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're done.
Penske Moving Trucks
You trust us with your DIY jobs. Do the same when it's time to move into a new apartment, house, or condo. We offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12 feet to 26 feet. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from everything in a college dorm to the contents of a 4-bedroom house.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a week?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and bigger jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
