Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

What sizes of moving boxes do you have?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before spring severe weather arrives?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, change chimney caps and vinyl siding if in poor condition.
What are the benefits of doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole or window when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
