Can I rent tools by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before choosing a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
