Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise while they create less power. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Should I do siding repairs now?
Ready your home for spring temperatures swings and storms by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Check brick and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if damaged.
What benefits do doorbell cameras have?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
