Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. Why should I get a generator?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When browsing generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs now?
Ready your home for spring temperatures swings and storms by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed if they're damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
