When you're preparing to leap into a DIY project, you might not have the specialty tools you need in the garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Eden Prairie.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete a DIY job. It's impractical to get a specialized tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, do a trial run before you select which to get. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Gorgeous sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, scaffolding rentals for painting sheds or houses, or rental ladders for painting fences, we have what you need.
Truck Rental
Choose one of our trucks when you're in need of a truck or cargo van. It's great for hauling a tool rental or large purchase. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready to roll, so you can keep moving on your project. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out the FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.

How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before you select a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
