The Home Depot Rental Center at Florence, SC

Take on any new home improvement project with the tools you need — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Complete your project without cluttering up valuable workshop or shed storage with tools you only need once in a while.

Tool Rental
The Home Depot Florence, SC Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complicated DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, you may be able to find it at another store within driving distance.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Rental Trucks
If it's time to get started on your next project but you need to rent a truck to do it, stop by The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From cargo vans and pickup trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. You're sure to find the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a month?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and major projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing a truck.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my large equipment rental from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
