How long can I rent tools?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
