When it's time to make the leap into a DIY job, you might not have all the tools you need in a workshop or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Frankfort, IL Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you require to complete your project. It's impractical to purchase a specialized tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're considering a new tool, do a trial run before you choose which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle serious projects with serious power tools. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your job.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated areas when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To move large equipment rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to cargo vans to flatbeds. We'll have the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for DIY jobs of all sizes, it's smart to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 3-bedroom home. Box trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than Penske moving trucks, so check the FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term jobs are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my rented large equipment?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
