The Home Depot Rental Center at Ft Wayne

When you're starting to dive into a big DIY project, you might not have all the tools you need in the shed. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Ft Wayne Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbox and toolbelt with the precise tools you require to complete a DIY job. It's impractical to purchase a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, do a trial run first before you decide which to get. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage fast and make surfaces look new again. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacs, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major projects with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your project.

Rental Trucks
If it's time to start your DIY project but you need to rent a truck to do it, visit The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From pickup and flatbed trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. Get the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before choosing a vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
