When you're ready to make the leap into a home improvement job, you might not have everything you need in the shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Gandy Blvd Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete a DIY job. It's not necessary to keep a specialty tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're searching for a new tool, do a trial run before you decide which to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage fast and make surfaces look new again. Ladder rentals help you reach elevated areas when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle major jobs with robust power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to pickups to flatbeds. You're sure to find the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for storage, packing, and DIY projects, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Penske moving trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than our box trucks, so check the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool or large equipment for an hour?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before you decide on a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
