A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. Let us help keep your workspace cool and comfortable so you can get more done. We have generators to run rental air conditioners, fans, and all your large power tools.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Rental Trucks
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep cargo vans and pickup trucks ready for rental — with availability varying by store. We'll have the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY and storage projects, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks or tools?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools?

Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
