The Home Depot Rental Center at Harriman

Take on any new home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You can complete your project without taking up valuable shed or garage storage with tools you only need once in a while.

Tool and Equipment Rental
The Home Depot Harriman Tool Rental Center helps you handle larger DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, try checking another one within driving distance.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, update your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with edgers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Truck Rental
Choose one of our trucks when you need a pickup truck or cargo van. It's great for hauling a large purchase or tool rental. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready to roll, so you can keep moving on your project. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a truck or tool?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools?

Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
