The Home Depot Rental Center at Hattiesburg

Take on any DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't own them. Rent tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You're free to complete your project without cluttering up valuable workshop or shed storage with tools you only reach for once in a while.

Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot Hattiesburg Tool Rental Center lets you do larger DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Complete your project confidently and safely by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, it could be at another store within driving distance.

Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Make the most of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach high surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to work.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with string trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Rental Trucks
To meet your transport needs, we keep pickup trucks and cargo vans ready for rental — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. We'll have the correct size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY jobs of all sizes, it's simple to make us your source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term projects are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I get my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
