The Home Depot Rental Center at Hollywood, FL

Take on any home improvement project with the tools you need — even if you don't currently own them. Rent power tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You're free to complete your project without taking up workshop storage with tools you only need once in a while.

Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Hollywood, FL helps you handle larger DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have a tool you need in stock, try checking another one within driving distance.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Ladder rentals help you reach high surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and trimmers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to roll. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to cargo vans to flatbed trucks. Choose the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY and storage projects, it's simple to make us your source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Our box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment by the hour?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
