When you're ready to make the leap into a home improvement project, you might not have every tool you need in a garage or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Huntington Beach II.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's impractical to purchase a specialized tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're searching for a new tool, do a trial run first before you choose which to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Rent Shop Vacuums, Floor Sanders, and Post Hole Diggers
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your home faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Beautiful spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need scaffolding rentals for painting a shed, or rental ladders for painting fences, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Rental Trucks
For your transport needs, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for packing, DIY, and storage, it's simple to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You may also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for a week?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you select a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
